Agii Apostoli

There are four distinct beaches in Agii Apostoli, each one in its own small bay. The beaches have clear and relatively shallow waters, suitable for families with children, and excellent fine sand. They have an orientation that protects them from occasional winds on the north coast of Crete.

The beaches in Agii Apostoli are well organized. There are facilities for water sports, beach volley and racket-ball games as well as infrastructure for disabled persons. You can also find anything you may need around the beaches, from relaxing beach bars to taverns and restaurants, super markets, souvenir shops, car rental agencies and pharmacy.

Agii Apostoli is a special place, very close to Chania city, with great beaches, great tourism infrastructure and a natural landscape that will amaze you.

Falassarna

Falasarna is located on the West coast of Crete and, similarly to Elafonisi it is popular with day trippers because of its stunning beaches and clear turquoise blue sea.

It consists of several sandy beaches of various lengths, all facing the West (which makes it a wonderful place to watch the sunset from). The sea is generally very clean and with lovely colours because of the sandy bottom.

If you are interested in archaeology you can also visit the remains of a fortified Hellenistic harbour. Because of a sudden uplift of the West of Crete 1500 years ago the harbour is now located inland.

Elafonissi

Elafonisi (or Elafonissos) is a small islet connected to the rest of Crete by a shallow reef that can be crossed on foot. This islet lies 80 km northwest of Chania town and can be reached by boat from Paleohora or by car from the village of Vathi, until a point and then cross the reef.
Elafonisi (Island of Deer) is like paradise on earth and has a wonderful beach with pink coral sand and crystalline waters. It is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.

Marathi

Marathi beach is located 17 km east of Chania, in the Akrotiri peninsula. It is a beautiful sandy beach with shallow water, and protected by summer winds, due to its orientation. The beach is ideal for families with young children, and provides ample view to the sea and to the White Mountains of Crete in the background.

The beach is well organized with sunbeds, parasols, showers, lifeguard service etc. It also has infrastructure for disabled persons. Close to the beach you can find taverns, restaurants and cafes providing all the food and drinks you may need.

Marathi beach is also close to Loutraki beach.
